Profhilo in Delhi
Profhilo Treatment in Delhi
Profhilo has been described as an injectable moisturiser, which is a good line and a slightly misleading one. It undersells what the product actually does and oversells how quickly it does it. Profhilo does hydrate — extraordinarily well, at a depth no cream reaches. But its more interesting property is that it does not stay where you put it, and it does not stay at all for very long. Within about a month it has been completely metabolised and cleared from your skin. What remains is the collagen and elastin your own skin produced in response to it. That, rather than the hyaluronic acid itself, is the result you paid for.
This distinction matters, because it explains everything else: why Profhilo needs only five injection points on each side of the face, why the effect keeps improving after the product is gone, why one session is not a course, and why nobody can honestly promise you an instant result. It also explains what Profhilo cannot do — a subject most clinics selling it prefer to leave out.
At Sarayu Clinics in Greater Kailash, Profhilo is administered by facial plastic and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Adarsh Tripathi. The injection protocol is a defined anatomical one — five specific points per side, each chosen to sit away from major vessels and nerves while placing the product where tissue mobility carries it furthest. Knowing precisely where those points are, and what runs beneath them, is the whole of the skill.
The short answer : Profhilo is an injectable bio-remodelling treatment made by IBSA in Italy. It contains 64mg of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid in a 2ml syringe — 32mg high-molecular-weight and 32mg low-molecular-weight — bonded thermally using NAHYCO technology rather than by chemical cross-linkers such as BDDE. It is not a dermal filler: it adds no volume and does not change facial shape. Instead it spreads through tissue from just five injection points per side (the BAP technique), hydrating intensely while stimulating collagen and elastin. The standard course is two sessions four weeks apart. Results build over eight to twelve weeks and last six to nine months. Downtime is a few hours of small bumps. Delhi cost is roughly Rs 30,000–55,000 per session, so Rs 60,000–1,10,000 for a proper two-session course. It is suitable for vegetarian and Jain patients — the hyaluronic acid is produced by bacterial fermentation, not from animal sources.
What Profhilo Actually Is ?
Profhilo is manufactured by IBSA Farmaceutici in Italy and was launched in 2015. It belongs to a category called bio-remodellers — a small group of injectables that sit between skin boosters and collagen stimulators, and which improve skin quality rather than facial shape.
Three technical facts define it, and each has a practical consequence you can feel:
- 64mg of hyaluronic acid in 2ml. This is among the highest HA concentrations of any injectable on the market. It is split precisely — 32mg of high-molecular-weight HA, which forms a slow-releasing scaffold, and 32mg of low-molecular-weight HA, which acts fast and stimulates the fibroblasts that make collagen. The two work at different depths, simultaneously.
- No BDDE. No chemical cross-linking at all. Conventional dermal fillers are stabilised with a chemical cross-linker called BDDE, which is what makes them hold their shape in one place. Profhilo instead uses NAHYCO, a patented thermal process that bonds the two HA weights into what IBSA calls a Hybrid Cooperative Complex. No cross-linker means no rigidity — and no rigidity is precisely why it flows.
- It is produced by bio-fermentation. The hyaluronic acid is grown by bacterial fermentation to an ultra-pure grade, not extracted from any animal source.
Suitable for vegetarian, Jain and religiously observant patients
This is worth stating plainly, because it is a genuine practical advantage and because we raised the counterpoint elsewhere on this site. Profhilo’s hyaluronic acid is produced entirely by bacterial bio-fermentation. It contains no animal-derived material. This is not true of every skin-quality injectable: the polynucleotide boosters, such as Rejuran, are derived from purified salmon DNA. For a great many patients in Delhi that distinction is material, and it is one we volunteer before treatment rather than leave to be discovered afterwards. If a fish-derived product is unacceptable to you, Profhilo is an excellent alternative for hydration and mild laxity.
The Thing Nobody Explains: Profhilo Is Gone Before Your Result Arrives
Here is a fact that sounds like a problem and is actually the entire mechanism. Profhilo is fully metabolised by your body in roughly four weeks. By the time you notice your skin looking different, the product itself has already been broken down and cleared.
So what are you looking at? Your own tissue. During the weeks the Profhilo is present, the low-molecular-weight HA fraction signals your fibroblasts to produce collagen — types I, III, IV and XVII — along with elastin. That newly synthesised scaffold is what firms and thickens the skin, and it persists for months after the hyaluronic acid has gone. The hydration you feel in the first fortnight is the product. The firmness and glow you see at three months is you.
Three practical consequences follow directly from this, and they are the reasons an honest clinic will tell you things you might not want to hear:
- One session is not a course. The collagen response needs to be triggered twice, four weeks apart, to build a meaningful scaffold. A single session is a half-treatment, and any clinic offering one as a complete package is selling you a fraction of a result.
- There is no instant result. Whatever you see on day one is transient hydration and mild swelling around the injection points. The real change appears from week four and peaks around week eight to twelve.
- It cannot be dissolved, and it does not need to be. Unlike a filler, there is no shaped deposit to remove. If you dislike the effect, it fades on its own. This is a meaningful safety characteristic.
The BAP Technique: Why Only Five Points Per Side
A conventional hyaluronic acid skin booster is delivered as a fine grid of forty or more micro-droplets across the face, because the product stays where it is placed. Profhilo is delivered through ten injections in total — five on each side. This is not the clinic cutting corners. It is a defined protocol, developed by the manufacturer, called the Bio Aesthetic Points technique.
It works because the Hybrid Cooperative Complex is highly spreadable and highly cohesive at once — it diffuses through the tissue planes from each entry point, distributing itself across the whole region rather than pooling. The five points are selected on two criteria: they are in zones of high tissue mobility, which carries the product furthest, and they sit in anatomically defined safe zones, away from the major facial vessels and nerve branches.
The five facial BAP points on each side, in the standard protocol, are:
- Zygomatic protrusion — over the cheekbone prominence
- Nasal base — at the junction of the nose and cheek
- Tragus — kept a defined distance anterior to the ear cartilage, to avoid the superficial temporal vessels
- Chin — located by a precise geometric measurement toward the oral commissure
- Mandibular angle — at the jaw corner
For the neck, roughly ten points are distributed along its length. The practical benefits are real: fewer injections means less discomfort, less bruising, less risk, and a treatment that takes fifteen minutes rather than forty. The technical requirement is that whoever holds the needle knows exactly what lies beneath each point.
Why this is a surgeon’s advantage, not a marketing line ?
The BAP points are defined by their relationship to structures you cannot see: the superficial temporal artery near the tragus, the facial artery near the mandibular angle, the branches of the facial nerve. Placement is described in the protocol in centimetres from anatomical landmarks. A practitioner who has spent years operating on these exact planes — identifying, protecting and reconstructing them — locates those points differently from one who learned them from a diagram on a weekend course. It is the least glamorous argument for surgeon-led injectables and by some distance the most important.
Profhilo vs Dermal Fillers
This is the most common misunderstanding, and the source of most disappointment. They are not competing products. They solve different problems.
| Profhilo | Dermal filler |
Purpose | Improves skin quality — hydration, firmness, elasticity | Restores volume and changes facial shape |
Cross-linked? | No — NAHYCO thermal bonding, no BDDE | Yes — BDDE cross-linked to hold its shape |
Behaviour in tissue | Spreads and diffuses through the region | Stays precisely where it is placed |
Injection points | 5 per side of the face (BAP technique) | Targeted to the specific area being volumised |
Adds volume? | No | Yes |
Immediate result? | No — builds over 8–12 weeks | Yes — visible immediately |
Reversible? | Not applicable — metabolises in ~4 weeks | Yes — dissolvable with hyaluronidase |
Lasts | 6–9 months | 6–24 months |
If your cheeks have flattened or your jawline has softened structurally, you need dermal fillers, and Profhilo will disappoint you. If your face is the right shape but your skin looks tired, dull and slightly lax, Profhilo is precisely the tool. The two combine well, and are frequently used together — but they should be planned together, not sold together.
What Profhilo Will Not Do ?
The category name — ‘bio-remodelling’ — invites the assumption that it lifts. It does not, and the gap between what patients expect and what the product delivers is the main reason for dissatisfaction with an otherwise excellent treatment.
- It will not lift sagging skin. Profhilo produces a modest improvement in firmness and skin density. It has no effect on true tissue descent. If you have jowls or a loosening neck, a thread lift, HIFU or a facelift is the honest answer, and we will say so.
- It will not fill lines or restore volume. Deep nasolabial folds and hollow cheeks need filler. Profhilo softens fine, dehydration-related lines only.
- It will not treat pigmentation. Dullness from dehydration improves; dullness from melanin does not. That is a pigmentation treatment
- It will not fix texture or acne scarring as effectively as the alternatives. Polynucleotide boosters, Morpheus8 and microneedling are stronger for textural change.
- It will not work in three weeks. If your event is imminent, this is the wrong treatment and the right advice is to say so.
Benefits of Profhilo
- Deep, sustained hydration — 64mg of HA per syringe, placed in the dermis where topical products cannot reach. Skin feels supple rather than merely coated.
- Genuine collagen and elastin stimulation — collagen types I, III, IV and XVII, plus elastin. This is the durable part of the result.
- Modest but real firming — improvement in skin density and elasticity, particularly across the cheeks, jawline and neck.
- Only ten injections for the whole face — less discomfort, less bruising and less risk than the forty-plus points a conventional booster requires.
- No BDDE, no cross-linkers — an unusually clean formulation, with a correspondingly low rate of nodules and inflammatory reactions.
- It changes nothing about your face — no volume, no altered proportions, no ‘done’ look. For patients nervous about injectables, this is the entire appeal.
- Excellent in areas that are hard to treat — the neck, décolletage, inner arms and backs of the hands respond well, and have few good alternatives.
- No pigmentation risk in Indian skin — Profhilo does not target melanin and creates no thermal injury, so Fitzpatrick IV–V skin carries no meaningful risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. A real advantage over laser-based glow treatments.
- Substantial safety record — published post-marketing data covering more than 40,000 treated patients supports its tolerability profile.
Areas We Treat with Profhilo
- Face — cheeks, midface, jawline (the standard 10-point BAP protocol)
- Neck — one of the most rewarding Profhilo areas, and poorly served by other treatments
- Décolletage and upper chest
- Backs of the hands — where ageing shows early and options are limited
- Inner arms
- Temples and forehead (selected cases)
- Knees and inner thighs (Profhilo Body)
- Abdomen, post-pregnancy or post-weight-loss laxity (Profhilo Body)
Profhilo for the Neck, Hands and Body
Most Delhi pages treat Profhilo as a facial treatment. The neck is arguably where it performs best — the skin there is thin, ages early, and responds poorly to almost everything else. Deep crepiness and horizontal neck lines soften considerably over a two-session course. The backs of the hands are similar: thin skin, visible ageing, few alternatives.
The product family is worth knowing, because clinics rarely distinguish them:
- Profhilo H+L — the original and by far the most common. Face, neck, décolletage, hands.
- Profhilo Body — a higher-volume formulation for larger areas such as the abdomen, inner thighs, knees and upper arms.
- Profhilo Structura — a newer formulation designed to support the subcutaneous fat compartment and improve structural firmness. Distinct from H+L in both indication and placement.
Conditions & Concerns Profhilo Treats
- Dehydrated, dull, flat-looking skin — the primary indication.
- Mild to moderate skin laxity — particularly across the cheeks, jowl area and jawline. Mild. Not sagging.
- Crepey skin — on the neck, décolletage, hands and inner arms.
- Fine lines caused by dryness rather than muscle movement — these respond well; expression lines need Botox
- Loss of skin bounce and elasticity — the quality patients describe as skin that no longer ‘springs back’.
- Horizontal neck lines — softened, though not eliminated.
- Skin damaged by pollution and urban exposure — a genuine dermatological factor in Delhi.
- Preparation before or maintenance after surgery — better skin quality improves surgical outcomes and how well scars settle.
The Procedure: Step by Step
- Skin assessment and honest suitability check. Tripathi assesses hydration, elasticity, skin density and degree of laxity. If your dominant concern is volume, sagging or pigment, you will be told that Profhilo is the wrong treatment before you book it.
- Product verification. You may ask to see the sealed IBSA syringe, its batch number and its packaging. We will show you.
- Numbing — and why it matters more here. Profhilo contains no lidocaine, unlike most dermal fillers. Topical anaesthetic is applied for 20–30 minutes beforehand. Clinics that skip this step because ‘it’s only ten injections’ are making the treatment needlessly uncomfortable.
- Marking the BAP points. The five points per side are located by anatomical measurement, not by eye. On the neck, roughly ten points are marked along its length.
- A fine 29G needle deposits the product subcutaneously at each point. Ten injections for a full face take about fifteen minutes. You will feel a sting and a sensation of pressure as the bleb forms.
- The blebs. Each injection leaves a small raised bump — this is the product, and it is supposed to be there. They flatten over a few hours as the complex spreads through the tissue. They are not massaged.
- The second session. Four weeks later, and non-negotiable. The collagen response requires both.
- A single session at six to nine months sustains the result.
Downtime & Aftercare
- First few hours: ten small raised blebs, clearly visible. They settle within four to six hours in most patients, occasionally overnight. Plan your day accordingly — do not book a wedding for that evening.
- Do not massage or rub the area. Unlike some fillers, Profhilo is designed to diffuse on its own. Manipulating it is counterproductive.
- First 24 hours: no makeup where possible. No alcohol on the day of treatment.
- First 48 hours: no strenuous exercise, sauna, steam room or hot yoga. Heat increases swelling and accelerates HA breakdown.
- Bruising: uncommon, given only ten entry points, but possible — most often at the tragus and mandibular angle points.
- Sun protection: SPF 50+ daily. UV degrades exactly the collagen you are paying Profhilo to build.
- Return to work: the same day for most patients, or the next morning if the blebs are slow to settle.
Profhilo Cost in Delhi
Profhilo is a premium, patented, imported product with a real and non-negotiable acquisition cost. Verified Delhi ranges:
Treatment | Typical cost in Delhi (INR)* |
Consultation & skin quality assessment | Often nominal — confirmed when you book |
Profhilo H+L — face, single session (2ml) | Rs 30,000 – Rs 55,000 |
Profhilo H+L — standard face course (2 sessions) | Rs 60,000 – Rs 1,10,000 |
Profhilo — neck, single session | Rs 28,000 – Rs 50,000 |
Profhilo — face + neck, single session | Rs 50,000 – Rs 85,000 |
Profhilo — hands or décolletage (add-on) | Rs 20,000 – Rs 40,000 |
Profhilo Body — larger areas, per session | Rs 45,000 – Rs 90,000 |
Maintenance session (6–9 monthly) | Rs 30,000 – Rs 55,000 |
*Indicative ranges only. Because the standard protocol is two sessions, always compare clinics on the cost of the full course rather than the headline single-session price. A clinic quoting an unusually low per-session figure while omitting that two sessions are required is not cheaper
On counterfeit Profhilo — this is not a theoretical risk
Profhilo is among the most widely counterfeited aesthetic injectables in the world, precisely because it is expensive, in demand, and supplied in a distinctive prefilled syringe. Grey-market and falsified product circulates freely. A price well below the ranges above is a warning, not a bargain — what is in the syringe is unknown, unsterile, or both, and it is going into your dermis. At Sarayu we will show you the sealed IBSA syringe, the batch number and the outer packaging before it is opened. Ask this of any clinic, anywhere in Delhi. A clinic confident in its supply chain will show you immediately and without irritation.
Results Timeline
Timeframe | What usually happens |
Day 0 | Ten small blebs. Settle in 4–6 hours. This is not a result — it is the product. |
Day 1–3 | Skin feels noticeably softer and more supple. This is hydration, not remodelling. |
Week 1–3 | Subtle brightening. Skin reflects light differently. Nothing dramatic yet — this is normal. |
Week 4 | Second session. By now the first dose has been fully metabolised; the collagen response is underway. |
Week 6–8 | The change becomes visible to others. Firmness, density and glow all improve together. |
Week 8–12 | Peak result. Skin quality at its best — this is the point to photograph. |
Month 6–9 | Gradual, even decline as the new collagen turns over. Time for a maintenance session. |
Standardised photographs at each visit are essential, because a change this gradual is invisible to memory. Patients routinely believe nothing has happened until they see week zero and week ten side by side.
Profhilo Compared to the Alternatives
Treatment | What it does | Result appears | Lasts | Downtime |
Profhilo | Hydration + collagen; mild firming | 8–12 weeks | 6–9 months | Hours |
HA skin booster (Restylane Vital, Volite) | Deep hydration only | 2–4 weeks | 6–9 months | 1 day |
Polynucleotide (Rejuran) | Cellular repair; texture, fine scarring | 4–8 weeks | 6–9 months | 2–3 days |
Dermal filler | Volume and facial shape | Immediate | 6–24 months | Minimal |
Sculptra | Volume, gradually, via collagen | 3–6 months | Up to 2 years | 2–5 days |
Morpheus8 / RF microneedling | Deep collagen; real tightening | 3 months | 1–2 years | 2–5 days |
Thread lift | Mechanical lift of mild sagging | Immediate | 12–18 months | 3–7 days |
Profhilo sits within the broader skin booster category, where the full comparison of hydrators, bio-remodellers and regenerators is set out in detail. It combines particularly well with Botox — one treats muscle, the other treats skin — and is often used alongside dermal fillers where both quality and volume need addressing. It is also a sensible companion to HIFU or Morpheus8 when laxity is the dominant concern and Profhilo alone would not be enough.
Are You a Good Candidate for Profhilo?
You are likely well-suited if you have:
- Skin that looks dehydrated, dull or has lost its bounce
- Mild laxity across the cheeks, jawline or neck — mild, not sagging
- Crepey texture on the neck, décolletage or hands
- A wish to improve skin quality with no change to your facial shape
- Broadly, an age between the mid-thirties and mid-fifties, though this is a guide rather than a rule
- Any Fitzpatrick skin type, including IV–V
- Vegetarian, Jain or religious dietary requirements — Profhilo is bio-fermented and animal-free
- Patience for a result that takes two to three months to appear
A different plan, or extra caution, applies if you:
- Have significant sagging or volume loss — you need a lift or a filler, and we will tell you so rather than sell you this
- Have an event within eight weeks — the timeline does not work
- Have an active skin infection, cold sore or acne flare in the treatment area
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding — treatment is deferred
- Have a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid
- Are immunocompromised, or have an autoimmune condition or keloid tendency
- Have had a recent dental procedure or vaccination — a short delay is sensible
Why Choose Sarayu Clinics for Profhilo in Delhi ?
Profhilo is an unusually forgiving product administered through an unusually precise protocol. Both halves of that sentence matter. At Sarayu Clinics, Profhilo is planned and administered by facial plastic and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Adarsh Tripathi, alongside co-founder and celebrity aesthetician Dr. Nidhi Bhatia.
- Correct BAP technique, located anatomically. Five points per side, measured from landmarks, placed in safe zones away from the superficial temporal and facial arteries. Not approximated by eye.
- Genuine, traceable IBSA product. You may ask to see the sealed syringe, batch number and packaging at any appointment. We will show you before it is opened.
- Proper numbing, every time. Profhilo is lidocaine-free. Topical anaesthetic is applied and given time to work.
- The full course, honestly explained. Two sessions, four weeks apart. We will not sell you a single session as a complete treatment.
- Full product disclosure. Including the fact that Profhilo is bio-fermented and animal-free, and that some alternatives are not.
- An honest ‘no’ when Profhilo is the wrong answer. If you need volume, a lift or pigment treatment, you will hear that at the consultation and not after the second syringe.

How much does Profhilo cost in Delhi?
A single Profhilo session for the face typically costs Rs 30,000–55,000 in Delhi. Because the standard protocol is two sessions four weeks apart, a proper course is Rs 60,000–1,10,000. Face and neck together run Rs 50,000–85,000 per session. Always compare clinics on total course cost — a low single-session price that omits the second session is not a saving. Profhilo is a premium imported product; a price far below these ranges should raise questions about authenticity.
Is Profhilo a dermal filler?
No, and the distinction is the most important thing to understand about it. Dermal fillers are cross-linked with BDDE so that they hold their shape and add volume where placed. Profhilo contains no cross-linking agent at all — it uses NAHYCO thermal bonding — so it spreads through the tissue rather than staying put, and it adds no volume. It improves skin quality: hydration, firmness, elasticity. It does not change your facial shape.
Why does Profhilo only need 5 injections per side?
Because of how the product behaves. Its hybrid cooperative complex is highly spreadable, so it diffuses through the tissue planes from each entry point rather than pooling. The manufacturer’s BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) protocol uses five specific points per side — over the cheekbone, at the nasal base, anterior to the tragus, at the chin and at the mandibular angle. Each sits in an anatomically defined safe zone away from major vessels and nerves. A conventional skin booster needs forty or more points because it stays where it is placed.
How long does Profhilo take to work?
Longer than most people expect. Your skin will feel softer within a few days — that is hydration. The visible change, driven by new collagen, appears from around week six and peaks between weeks eight and twelve. The second session at week four is essential to that response. If you have an event, start at least three months beforehand.
How long does Profhilo last?
Six to nine months after a completed two-session course. It is not permanent, and no clinic should imply otherwise. A single maintenance session every six to nine months sustains the result. Curiously, the product itself is fully metabolised within about four weeks — what lasts is the collagen and elastin your own skin produced in response to it.
Does Profhilo hurt?
Mildly, and less than most injectables because there are only ten injection points for the whole face. It is worth knowing that Profhilo contains no lidocaine, unlike most dermal fillers, so topical numbing cream applied for 20–30 minutes beforehand makes a real difference. You will feel a sting and a sensation of pressure as each small bleb forms.
Do skin boosters hurt?
Mildly. Topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, and most patients describe small stings rather than pain. It is worth knowing that several boosters do not contain built-in lidocaine, unlike most dermal fillers, so the numbing step matters more here. The under-eye area is the most sensitive; a cannula is often used there for both comfort and safety.
Is Profhilo suitable for vegetarians?
Yes. Profhilo’s hyaluronic acid is produced by bacterial bio-fermentation to an ultra-pure grade and contains no animal-derived material. This makes it suitable for vegetarian, Jain and religiously observant patients. It is worth noting that not all skin-quality injectables share this — polynucleotide boosters such as Rejuran are derived from purified salmon DNA. We disclose the origin of every product we inject before treatment.
Will Profhilo lift my sagging skin?
No. Profhilo improves skin firmness, density and elasticity, which reads as a subtle tightening — but it has no effect on true tissue descent. If you have jowls, a loosening neck or genuine sagging, you need a thread lift, HIFU, Morpheus8 or a surgical lift. A clinic promising a lift from Profhilo is overselling, and the disappointment that follows is entirely predictable.
Can Profhilo be dissolved if I don't like it?
The question does not really apply. Unlike a filler, Profhilo forms no shaped deposit to remove — it disperses and is fully metabolised within about four weeks. There is nothing to dissolve. The collagen it stimulated simply turns over naturally over the following months. This is one of its genuine safety advantages.
Can Profhilo be combined with Botox or fillers?
Yes, and it commonly is. Botox treats muscle-driven expression lines; fillers restore volume and shape; Profhilo improves the quality of the skin sitting over both. They address entirely different layers and problems. The sequencing matters, though — treatments should be planned together at consultation, rather than stacked in one session because they were all available on the menu.
