What Blepharoplasty Actually Costs in Delhi — and How to Read a Quotation

If you have collected two or three quotations for blepharoplasty cost in Delhi, you have probably noticed they don’t agree — and that the gap between them can be large enough to be unsettling. One clinic quotes a figure that seems almost too accessible. Another quotes several times that. Both are describing what sounds like the same operation.

They usually aren’t. The number on a quotation is a summary of several separate decisions, and most quotations don’t show their working. This article explains what actually sits behind the figure so you can compare like with like — which is a more useful skill than knowing any single price.

The Delhi Market, Roughly

Across Delhi NCR, blepharoplasty is commonly quoted somewhere in these bands. The spread within each band is the interesting part.

ProcedureTypical Delhi range (INR)*
Upper eyelid blepharoplastyRs 45,000 – Rs 1,10,000
Lower eyelid blepharoplastyRs 55,000 – Rs 1,30,000
Upper and lower togetherRs 90,000 – Rs 2,20,000
Transconjunctival lower blepharoplastyRs 65,000 – Rs 1,50,000
Blepharoplasty with fat repositioningHigher end of the above; quoted individually
Revision blepharoplastyQuoted individually — frequently exceeds primary surgery

Notice that the top of each range is roughly double the bottom. That gap is not arbitrary, and it is not simply a measure of how fashionable a clinic is.

What Actually Drives the Difference

Which eyelids, and how much work

Upper eyelid surgery is generally the simpler operation. Lower eyelid surgery is technically more demanding and carries more scope for complication, which is reflected in price. Doing both in one sitting usually costs less than two separate procedures, because you are sharing one theatre session and one recovery.

Technique

Straightforward skin and fat removal is priced differently from fat repositioning, where fat is redistributed to smooth the lid-cheek transition rather than simply excised. The latter takes longer and requires more judgement. Neither is universally better — but they are not the same operation, and a quote that doesn’t specify which is being proposed is incomplete.

Anaesthesia

Local anaesthesia alone costs less than local with sedation, which costs less than general anaesthesia with an anaesthetist present. This is often the single largest line-item difference between two quotes for the same procedure. Neither choice is automatically safer — it depends on the extent of surgery and on you — but it should be stated.

Where the surgery happens

An accredited day-care theatre with proper monitoring, emergency equipment and trained staff has real running costs. A procedure room does not. This is a legitimate reason for one quotation to be higher, and a legitimate question to ask about a quotation that is lower.

Who operates

Surgeon experience, training and case volume are reflected in fees. This is the factor most likely to be invoked to justify a high price and the hardest for a patient to verify — which is why the questions further down matter.

What happens before and after

Preoperative assessment, blood work where indicated, medication, suture removal, follow-up visits and photographic review all cost something. Some quotations include them. Some quote the procedure alone and bill the rest separately, which is not dishonest but does make the headline number look smaller.

Why the Cheapest Quotation Is Not Automatically the Worst — and the Most Expensive Is Not Automatically the Best

It is tempting to treat price as a proxy for safety. It isn’t one, in either direction.

A lower quotation can be entirely legitimate. A surgeon with lower overheads, a clinic outside a premium catchment, a simpler case requiring less theatre time, or a procedure done under local anaesthesia rather than general — all of these produce a smaller number without anything being compromised.

Equally, a high price guarantees nothing. It may reflect genuine expertise and a properly equipped facility. It may also reflect marketing spend, a prestigious address, or simply what the market will bear.

The useful reframe

Price does not establish quality or safety, and comparing prices is only meaningful once you know what each price includes. A cheap quote that covers surgeon, accredited facility, anaesthesia, medication and three follow-ups may represent better value than an expensive one that covers the operation alone. Compare the contents, then compare the numbers.

What Should Be Included in a Blepharoplasty Quote?

Ask for the quotation in writing and check whether each of these is inside or outside the figure:

  • Surgeon’s fee
  • Anaesthesia — and which type is planned
  • Facility or theatre charges
  • Preoperative consultation and any required investigations
  • Medication and dressings
  • Suture removal
  • Scheduled follow-up visits, and how many
  • The clinic’s policy if a minor revision is needed
  • Taxes

A clinic that can answer all nine without hesitation has thought about your care. One that becomes uncomfortable has told you something useful.

Five Questions to Ask Before Choosing Based on Price

  1. Who will actually perform the surgery, and what is their training? Not the clinic’s name — the individual, and their qualification in facial or oculoplastic surgery.
  2. Which eyelids, which technique, and why that technique for me? If the answer doesn’t reference your particular anatomy, you have been given a price, not a plan.
  3. What anaesthesia is planned, and who administers it? If sedation or general anaesthesia is involved, an anaesthetist should be named.
  4. Where will the procedure be done, and is that facility accredited? Ask to see the space if you can.
  5. What is and is not included, and what happens if something needs adjusting? Revision policies vary widely and are rarely volunteered.

A Word on Very Low Quotations

None of the above should be read as an argument for paying more. But a quotation dramatically below everything else you have seen is worth interrogating rather than dismissing or accepting. Usually one of three things explains it: a narrower scope than you assumed, a less equipped setting, or an operator whose qualification differs from what you imagined. Any of those may still be acceptable to you — but you should be choosing them knowingly.

Eyelid surgery sits millimetres from the eye and has a visible, permanent result. It is a reasonable place to prioritise confidence over saving.

Questions Patients Ask

Why do blepharoplasty quotes in Delhi vary so much?

Because they summarise different things. The main variables are which eyelids are treated, the technique used, the type of anaesthesia, whether the procedure is done in an accredited day-care theatre, the surgeon’s experience, and how much preoperative and follow-up care is bundled in. Two quotes can differ by a factor of two while describing genuinely different packages.

Is cheaper blepharoplasty unsafe?

Not necessarily. Lower overheads, a simpler case, or local rather than general anaesthesia can all reduce cost legitimately. Price alone does not establish safety. What matters is what the quotation includes — surgeon qualification, facility standard, anaesthesia arrangements and follow-up. Ask for the breakdown rather than judging by the total.

Is it cheaper to do upper and lower eyelids together?

Usually yes, compared with two separate procedures, because you share one theatre session, one anaesthetic and one recovery period. Whether it is advisable to do both at once is a separate clinical question that depends on your anatomy and on the extent of surgery planned.

Does insurance cover eyelid surgery in India?

Purely cosmetic blepharoplasty is generally not covered. Where upper eyelid skin is heavy enough to obstruct the visual field, the procedure may be considered functional rather than cosmetic, and some policies may then contribute. This requires documentation, often including a visual field test, and depends entirely on your insurer’s terms — ask them directly before assuming either way.

Why is revision blepharoplasty more expensive?

Because it is more difficult. Scar tissue from the first operation alters the anatomy, the margin for error is smaller, and the surgeon is working to correct a result rather than create one. It frequently takes longer than the original procedure, and it often requires more experience, not less.

Should I travel to another city for cheaper surgery?

It can work, but factor in the parts people forget: follow-up visits, suture removal, and being near your surgeon if something needs attention in the first fortnight. If a complication arises, proximity matters more than the saving. Local follow-up availability should be part of the cost comparison, not an afterthought.

Getting a Figure That Actually Applies to You

A meaningful number requires an examination — which eyelids, how much skin, whether fat needs repositioning, what your brow is doing, and what anaesthesia suits the plan. You can read more about the procedure itself on our blepharoplasty and eyelid surgery page, or book a consultation at Greater Kailash-1 for a written quotation.

If you are still working out whether you need surgery at all, start with our guide on whether eyelid surgery is actually the right answer. And if the phrase “scarless” has come up in a quotation you have received, our explanation of what that technique can and cannot do is worth reading first.
